Start to dive
I started diving in Belgium in 2009. After a few dives in the ice cold waters of Belgium and Holland I made my first trip to an exotic destination. It was in Bali that I saw for the first time crystal clear water full of colourful featherstars, soft & hard corals. This is the place where I also saw my very first ghostpipefishes, harlequin shrimps, frogfish and many, many nudibranchs.
As dive buddy of an underwater photographer & videographer I quickly realized I wouldn’t swim far underwater on a dive. So I had all the time to search in detail for all the little critters hiding in the reef and on the sandy bottoms. Passionate about discovering the little treasures of the underwater world I quickly got a nickname “eagle eye”.
In 5 years time I travelled to many places in Indonesia including the Lembeh Strait, Komodo National park, Rajah Ampat, Cenderawasih bay, Ambon, the Banda Sea, Flores, Sumbawa, etc. but also in the Caribbean where nobody expects to find many critters I enjoyed marvelous dives finding unusual nudi’s and even pipehorse.
